Apple Store has the "world's smallest" iPod Shuffle 1GB (refurbished, 2nd gen) for $49 + $4 shipping = $53 shipped. Available refurbished in 4 colors right now. "Now made of sleek, durable anodized aluminum, less than half the size of the original."

The price sounds good. Are the refurbished from Apple nice? Like are there any scratches or dings on them at all?

This is a nice product- no scratches or signs of use in any way. I got a refurb for the exact price about a year ago and it is still going strong. But I couldn't see myself buying another when creative has their Stone at the same size with more than double the features (2G storage plus LCD screen) for less $ than a refurb Shuffle. Also, the refurb Shuffle is not a good gift because it comes in an ugly brown box with "REFURBISHED" printed on the side so it will make you look cheap. New Shuffles have that fancy clear case.

#3- you are obviously fat AND lazy bc you must never go in a gym. The small size of the Shuffle makes it very popular among people who actually work out.

Agreed, for running and/or gym use these are great. Anything else obviously the lack of LCD and small storage are killers.

I have bought Qty.3 of these refurbs from apple before and they appeared in mint condition though YMMV.

To avoid $4 shipping on a Qty.1 order I would also buy a $10 itunes card -even though this would be an emailed code I got free shipping - or you could consider it a $10 itunes card for $6.

Another $52 off would make it a deal. Anything more than that is too much.

I never understand why someone would rather buy refurbished things.

the refurbs carry the same 1 year apple warranty as new products. i just wish apple used a regular usb connector so it could be used as a flash drive also without the special connector.

I agree with #6's idea of giving it to a 3 year old filled with porno sound clips.

Never understood the the iPod Shuffle. I want more control than that. I've got a Nano (refurb--had no problems with it) with an armband and it works great for running.

"I never understand why someone would rather buy refurbished things."

I never understand why someone would not want to save some money and buy refurbished things. Of course, if you must spend more $ than you have to you could just PayPal it to me. Smile

It's a good deal as long as you don't mind having the previous "generation" of iPods...

This thing is awesome for workouts....but i don't think it will last that long...if you use it for workouts. Great deal though....
