I got an Xbox with Kinect for my son for christmas. There was no good place to mount the Kinect, so I set it up on an old camera tripod, almost identical to the one above. The issue with using a tipod is that when you extend the legs fully (which you will have to in order to get the appropriate hight), it has a VERY large footprint. It won't fit easily behind the TV without moving the TV several feet from the wall. I ultimately picked up a dual (Kinect and Wii) sensor mount and mounted it above the TV. It cost $20 and was well worth it.
