So, could some honest person buy me this at a Fry's near you and send it to me? We'll arrange payment. Fry's wants $19 for "super saver" shipping. Not an internet sales company, I guess.
When will they open a Fry's in NYC?
wish they had this for the pc
#3 it's due in the fall after numerous delays. As I recall October, I can't wait! Some places are letting you preorder it already!
Is this any good? Can someone who learned to play from this testify to it's effectiveness?
I have this for xbox and use it with my 1970s gibson melody maker, i must admit it is actually fun and a good learning experience. I have background in music playing the alto saxophone and a little bit of keyboards, this game has great chords and scale oriented mini games which have helped me a lot. The game is surprisingly hard for new players(as is the guitar in general) and takes a lot of persistence, but in game format I am willing to "practice" and keep going. The game is not perfect 100% of the time in regards to bending notes and harmonics specifically, but i would say it is a great way to start off learning the guitar and keeps people interested. Gets my seal of approval for its price for sure.
I'll add that I tried to learn by myself without out any aids really prior to this game and sort of gave it up, I couldnt get over the pain and dexterity needed for chords and to play rapidly. The score system in this game lets me know that I am improving on scale and chord fronts, I am learning actual songs and improving hand endurance at the same time. I also paid $50 for this when it came out.
The audio/video sync delay experienced with HDMI makes this game a lot less fun.
You need to be analog all the way through for good sync.
