I don't understand why I would want to buy that. I would have to get stuck with netflix or amazon. I guess this is for people who watch movies almost everyday. I am more of a "rent a movie once in a while" type of guy.
Well with "most" movie rentals being $3, a netflix $9 plan is 1 movie out (any movie you want) and unlimited Ruko instant watch movies. So basicly 3 movies a month will pay for it (its easy to get 5-6 movies from Netflix if you have the time in a month on the one out plan). Of course the RUko boxis $100.. but over time that can be abosrbed by the savings. I got one to watch TV when I had time, stuff like LOST. Hour long show, that without comercials is about 36 minutes, take off the 5 minute intro(recap), the 5 minute closeing credits and preview of next week and its 25-26 minutes long. I can watch 3-4 shows in the time it takes to watch one on TV, and if i want I can watch the next one right away.
Entertainment... we all spend what we feel it worth. But I must admit if you dont rent movies much, it would be pretty silly to get that box.
It all depends on what you use it for. The box is small, and they post the MAC address of the box on it, so if you took it on a business trip you could hook it up to your hotel TV and use their wireless to watch movies for free. That's the primary purpose on why I got one. Also throw in the fact that it was a Roku-HD from an estate sale for $4.
1) using wireless to watch HD movies can be too slow 2) c'mon, just 720p 3) for < $100 you can get any of variety media boxes which will play Netflix as well as plenty of other formats. (not surte about amazon) 4) get a device with internal HDD and go travel w/o dependency on hotel internet speed/presence

Not really a deal because the device is so limited.
