Ronco = quality.
Free pocket fisherman with purchase.
Can these cut shoe heels? If they can't, I'm not sure I want them.
When they add a free can of Spray Hair you can Count Me In!!!
Best knives if you need to cut a brick
do not let mofo mamma's boy, bacon el gordo tubbo, or toddsucks buy these. There could be foul play involved.
Oh yeah, at this price I'm sure these are real good. You can't even buy a decent chef's knife for under $50 or so.
they probably rust really easily...fyi
Of the Ronco Food Dehydrator fame?
Yes, the same company that made the all time great products -- 'Hair in a Can' and 'The Pocket Fisherman'
junk again
I was going to buy this set of knives about a year or so ago, but I researched them and found out that they are absolute junk. They rust VERY quickly, and if you want replacement knives, you'll have to deal with horrible customer service. Stay away.
knife-o-matic
Stay away from ALL large knife sets like this unless you want to spend $500+.
Most people don't need all of these knives. Start with a chef's knife and a good paring knife. Buy what you need from there.
Agree with #14, you're not going to get a quality set of knives for $39 but you could buy ONE nice one for that price.
The best thing about this set of knives is probably the knife block. When it comes to knives, buy quality, and they should last several lifetimes.
Anyone looking to follow #14's advice (and it is GOOD advice) - The victorinox "Fibrox" brand paring knife, at about $10, is a razor on a handle that will serve you well. Best part, at that price it's almost disposable when it gets dull in two years.
Chef's knives are more complex.
I received two sets of similar knives last year and both are rusting and dull already. The best feature on them is the block that I use to put better knives in now.
Just "Cut It And Forget It."
