have the usb 2.0 version of this, fan not loud at all. great enclosure.
I second jokersmoker. I have two of these (USB 2.0 versions); one has been running almost constantly for probably about 2 years. Every once in a while it needs to have the dust cleaned off, but it works great.
Highly recommended.
