RJ11 is so yesterday.
Seems like a pretty good deal, may have to jump, need an extra one
remember its not so much the joule rating, but more the high voltage MOV clamping rating.
I'm waiting for that remote control power strip to go on sale again. I want to use it to cut my bedroom fan on, and off.
This is a copycat of the Belkin model and both are very solid surge protectors. Rotating plugs are handy.

#4 just use a wireless lamp controller. thats what we use to control a small turbo fan.
