Newegg has the Rosewill RCR-IM5001 75-in-1 3.5" internal Card Reader for $20 - $5 off with coupon code EMCLXNS57 [Exp 9/27] = $15 with free shipping. It features a 3-port USB 2.0 hub, eSATA port, an extra faceplate in silver, and supports data transfer between memory cards.
75-in-1 for $15 offers an impressive 5 interface per dollar ratio, while your 45-in-1 for $12 is a pitiful 3.75/$1. It's obvious where the better deal is.
This arrived today and installed easily. Vista found it immediately and installed the drivers. Working fine. Problem is I don't have a floppy drive/3.5" slot and thus doesn't fit very well in my Antec 300 case. Had to do some modifications to get it to fit okay. Might do some more mods to get it to sit flush against the front of the case.
Whenever I see the Rosewill name, I can't help but think of the Rosebud sled from "Citizen Kane". I don't know why, but I do.
Based on your input #1, I will order this product asap.
Mixed reviews, but the egg is good with RMA if it doesn't work..
There are other readers on NooEgg with less features that may fit you needs, and you wallet, better. For instance, there is a 45-in-1 model for $12.
