I bought a set of these 3 years ago. 11 of them still work for at least 4 hours a night. That's going through 3 years of harsh Chicago weather.
Outdoor sets are definitely a high maintenance item, even my wired set needed one after another of the connectors lopped off and hard soldered to keep working over time. If I were to do it again I'd just hard solder a wired set in the first place instead of using the insulation dispersing connectors usually provided. They just don't hold up to rain/snow over time.
