These are amazing pears. I used to get them for free as part of company perks. However, the last couple times I ordered, they weren't as good as I remembered.

Pears are subject to seasonal stresses, some years will be better, and more or less expensive, than others.
I think I suffer from the same malady too..
The 1/2 gallon of maple syrup for $25 was a way better deal than 9 pears for $20...
