      $49 at walmart

I don't understand why these things should cost a dime more than the $39.99 price tag that they usually sell for..$40 is about 5x their worth anyway.
I have a friend who used to do wholesale, his price on these has always been between $8-$10, minimum purchase of 4.
At sites like alibaba.com, these chairs can be obtained for less than $10 a piece and higher end chairs that sell for $150+ locally can be bought for $20 when you buy in bulk.
I do understand that we are comparing bulk prices vs single item prices but come on, such a huge disparity?..officedepot, staples, WTF ??

      FOB Shanghai is $20-$60.

Do you know what FOB (free on board) means?

Vessel shipping per piece on this is about $10 to east coast, that's if you're loading into a 40' container.

Don't forget to add in at least a thousand to $2000 per 40' container for local land transportation and don't forget duty on each piece.

Shanghai is notorious for local Chinese authorities to manually inspect merchandise. Add another 5-10% for your merchandise getting destroyed - remember, it's FOB.

Don't forget warehousing fees, plus pick & pack overhead.

Disparity is not so huge - the product can't even be keystoned.

#1 alibaba.com is the biggest online wholesalers, Any one have a business of selling stuff usually resgister with them. You need a Company or Business Lic to order, they just don't sell it to regular folks. I deal with a few company in the United States. But never oversea. Why? you have to be very careful who you buy things from, after you wire money over, you might not get the goods, happen too many times to many good people. Most have store front a few month, then close down. It's a doggie dog world..

      #2 Say it all.

#3 got it right, I bought about 4 of these chair for $40 bucks
      few years ago..

I bought 3 "executive chairs" retailing for $49.99 for $9.99 each at a CVS pharmacy. Crazy cheap. Best bargain this year by far!
