Do not buy this piece of junk. The IR receiver gets false signals very easily (clearly very low quality). I think it is partly due to my placing it on a glass surface that has some reflection. The effect is the rewind command keeps activating. It may also be from the bright red LED (which blinks when it "reads" an IR signal) feeding back on itself. I also found the IR signals are too easily triggered from a remote unrelated to this receiver (the volume to my Yamaha amp causes the rewind to activate). I did some testing with a different programmable universal remote, and determined the Yamaha amp really is using a different single, but this Kinamax IR receiver reads improperly.
The remote has an off button for the TV, but no instructions how to configure it, not even on the Kinamax web site. So don't kid yourself into thinking this is a multi-device remote, it's not.
This unit is clearly being liquidated for a reason. Don't waste your $$$ buying this. Hopefully TheTechGeek will let me return this awful thing.
