No, really are these worth a 100 bucks?
I can get a PH test kit for about $8. In 14 years*, this sucker will pay for itself and I will be on pool testing easy street for life, baby. Yeah!

Test kits go bad, and give bad readings.
This makes people dump a bunch of expensive crap in their pools. There's other considerations than ^
And here all I have is an analog pool. Curses!
