I have this keyboard and I like it. It feels and looks nice. The backlighting makes it easier to see the keys in the dark. I don't use the palm rest but some people might like it. It defaults back to the blue color everytime you boot up your PC. I use the blue so it doesn't bother me but some people might be annoyed by this. The blue matches the antec 900 and Razer deathadder nicely.
Keys feel very solid and comfortable when typing or playing games. I think the quality is very good.
I only had one problem - My spacebar felt like a spring broke. After an email response from support the next day, they explained it must have just popped loose and provided detailed instructions so I could fix it. Great customer service!
I bought 3 of these a year ago, for trade show use. Our company colors are orange, purple, and blue, so we used these in our booth (red was close enough to orange). I like their stability...nice and heavy. Also I write for a computer magazine, so the Saitek people threw a nice party at CES in January. So thumbs up!
I would buy the original Eclipse for $5 less unless you have a fetish for red or purple backlighting.
The build quality isn't quite as nice on this one and the lighting isn't as even. I liked my original Eclipse better.

Every time you reboot you have to reset the color if your choice is not blue? L A M E
I have one to and also do not use the arm rest.

#2, instead of worrying about seeing the keys, maybe you could just learn how to type.
Moron.
besides the superficial differences like color and looks, is this any better than a regular keyboard?

Shut the burp up, unoriginal cretin.
Regarding the deal, I heard from people who care that this is an excellent keyboard.

Well... in THAT case this must be an excellent deal since you heard from people who care! What a useful recommendation...You're a burp Piss-Ant!
I never said it was an excellent deal, I said it was an excellent keyboard. Read much?
You can always tell when #13 gets off the bus and gets onto the internet... at least Ben's Bargains seems to be the first place he goes!
