Huh... The 52" Philips was in stock for me. I made it all the way to the final purchase screen (fake credit card and all) but didn't submit for obvious reasons.

I've heard that the Philips outlet is bad at telling you stock, but are they THAT bad that they won't tell you until after you've committed to buy it?

Regardless, it's a pretty sweet deal if you're willing to risk it with a refurb from Philips. It would have been $999.55 incl tax and shipping for me.

The point here is that 52" 1080p has broken the $1000 barrier. We likely will see budget brands going new for that much by the end of the year . if anyone can afford to buy anything by then.

Got the 47" LCD (47PFL7422D) from them last April for around $750. Still working great. No dead pixel. I also got a SqureTrade warranty with it to be on the safe side. On the negative side, I did buy two DVD Players from them but one was defective.

I bought a DVD player from Phillips Outlet. The moment I got it out of the box, it is not working. I tried to return back to Phillips but they never respond to your request. Until now I still have the defective player with me.
I would never touch any Phillips brand anymore.

Philips is bailing on the US market.

Funai will be making them under Philips name. From bad to worse?
