Samsonite used to be a good brand. As a Samsonite owner, I can testify that Samsonite luggage made within the last 10 years is trash. After just a couple of years of infrequent use, the axles will break and the handles will stop retracting easily, and eventually will break off while you're travelling.
Samsonite's 10-year warranty is worthless as they will only honor manufacturing defects at their discretion. Anything that breaks as a result of using the luggage is denied. The only hope you have of Samsonite dealing with you is to embarrass them on their Facebook page. But by then, you don't even want to travel with Samsonite any longer.
