Ends 11/29 at 10PM PST. Woot! has the refurbished Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1" Wi-Fi Android Tablet, Black or White (GT-P7510UWYXAB) for $320 + $5 shipping = $325 shipped. Features up to 14 hours battery life.
I have no problem with refurbished equipment. They actually get tested and reviewed more than the fresh product coming off the line does. The only downside is the warranty, but that's where Squaretrade comes in
This is arguably the best Android tablet. Read the reviews. Got mine new at Staples for $399. Screen quality is outstanding. My friend who owns a Xoom grudgingly admits he likes my Galaxy tab better.
I have worked in the past for a number of "these" manufacturers.....And thru employee purchases have bought "more" refurbished units than new.....If it is refurbished by the manufacturer.....Indeed they are tested to the the level of "new".....Once in a while you may get a lemon.....But I have no problem with refurbished at all.....In fact....over the years....I will say....More new units have broken for me....than refurbished....In for one.....no problem with this.....Great price....
PS....I also do not get the warranty.if it lasts 90 days.....It will last its usefull lifetime 90% of the time.....That other 10% I am will to risk for the price.with these.....I believe there useful life will be 3 years.....
use code TAXSUCKS to save 5 bucks. but it wont eliminate the tax unfortunately
and if you bought the ACER from BB from a few days ago like i did, just sell it on ebay. they sell for well over 220 so you can recoup most of the extra 100 you are spending on this device. or sell this which sells for well over the 325 pricetag. i'm gonna see which i like more after i root/tweak. the one feature i like about this one is the longer battery life. but i'm also curious to see which screen i like better.
@ Kramer987 - If you root the Iconia and use one of the custom roms, you'll be shocked at the battery life you will get. I charge mine every 3 days or so, and I read every day, play games, go online, and watch an occasional movie. Like all Android devices, you have to learn what to turn off when you're not using it.
@ raven312 - thanks for the comment i did a lot of research before getting the Acer and i especially liked the activity on XDA. i've got a nexus S and parents have a galaxy s 4g, so i'm well acquainted with rooting and tweaking android devices. this will be my first foray into tablets, though. i wanted my tablet to have GPS so the acer was an easy choice for that reason alone (at the BB price). this galaxy is plenty more expensive but does have 8 more gb... but i dont need the extra gb. only use about 5 on my nexus s.
i do think the ipad is a very sleek device and i love the jailbroken features, as well as cydia. but eh. my gf has an iphone 4 so thats enough iproduct in our home. i'm thinking i will stick with the ACER but do want to see the screen difference between the two first.
any tweaks in particular you want to talk about re the ACER? the thor kernels seem best, and there's that gps tweak. also the battery app i read about. haven't done much research on the galaxy tab but the tech site reviews of the stock device were pretty superior over the ACER. i'm sure after the tweaking both devices will be close to the same. no USB for the galaxy and shittier camera are kind of disappointing. though only thing i'd use the usb for is one of those 3g usb modems, but then again i can just tether my cell. sucks to drain the battery of two devices though.
I bought a Toshiba Thrive about a month ago after much research. Its slightly heavier and thicker than the Ipad and others BUT, it has Full-size HDMI, Full-Size USB, Mini USB, SDHC card slot, User Replaceable Battery, great battery life. etc. If you are are looking for the ultimate in external storage capability and connectivity, I highly recommend. The reviews on Amazon and other sites are excellent.
only if this wasn't refurbished.. i would jump all over this

The warranty is only 90 Day, Squaretrade is $54.99 for 1 year..
Good deal, makes me almost regret buying that $230 Acer tablet a couple days ago.
not worth it if it is refurbished.
If I had a website I would call it Woot!
So acer vs this? Which is better? They both seem to have the same specs.

How does android compare to iOS? It seems that android OS keeps ungrading... good or bad?

Grr bought the acer iconia from BB the other day but this is tempting. Any one have experience with refurbs from woot?
Samsung products are great to modify and root. This should be around $250.
Boy those went fast. Maybe they saved some for a woot-off.
