that's some crazy resolution...
Awfully strange resolutions on these new monitors...
why can't they just stick with 1920x1200?
That means each pixel on this monitor is much smaller and sharper than the rest.
Very likely this screen is 7th generation active LCD.
Not all LCD monitors are the same.
Samsung seems to be dumping the old stocks away at a low price but their monitors are much higher quality than the similarily priced Asus, Acer or whatever the brands.
I can understand the benefits of a smaller pixel pitch, but seriously, we're talking about a 23" monitor here. Might make sense if this was a 32". For a lotta ppl, using a monitor like this without killing their eyes would require either reducing the resolution and dealing with fuzzy text, or having to up the DPI like crazy
I don't remember hearing complaints about high resolutions when high end CRT displays were still en vogue.
#5, that probably because with CRTs you can select a lower resolution and the resulting image would still be sharp. With LCDs you have to stick to the native resolution or else get a blurry image.
agreed, #3, I always have great luck with anything Samsung (but, I guess, like anything else, it's only a matter of time before I get a dud)
good resolution for those who want to watch HD or blueray on it
