#3, you only need HDMI when you need to transfer BOTH video AND audio through the same cable. No built-in speakers in this monitor, so DVI is sufficient. DVI is compatible with HDMI, so you can connect the monitor to an HDMI source using adapters or cables (from Monoprice for the best deal) with absolutely no loss in quality.

weird extra-wide resolution. Wider aspect displays have less surface area, given the same diagonal

This aspect ratio will play dvd's full screen without the small banding as seen on widescreen 24" lcd's at 1920*1200

#4 - Most modern cards will provide a Max Res of 2560 x 1600 or 2048 x 1536, so if you're running almost anything recent (3yr) it should be ok but still check your Max Res Spec.

This is an offbeat resolution that does not work with some video cards. Plus, of course, 1-inch smaller on the diagonal.

I bought one at Frys and ended up returning it and buying instead a 24" Acer, 1920 x 2048. This was a good decision.

To top it all, Samsung tech support was clueless on what was and was not compatible. The deal is ok, not great, the monitor a bit on the white elephant side.

if your video card is fairly new, you shouldn't have a problem running this. I am excited to see new resolutions coming out.

#11, sorry, type-head disconnect, that should have read 1920 x 1200, same as my Dell ultrasharp 24" that cost mucho more.

#12, well then they should make a custom 1776 x 1072 just for you. Wink)

In this cruel world, nice to meet somebody that is pleased so easily.
