Samsung is a bit pricey but it's worth it. I have the BW226 at home and its awesome compared to the LCD I use at work.

pay the price now, and keep it for a long time to come. buy cheap now and replace it sooner but maybe by then prices for these will have fallen drastically so it would just about even out. but it is much less of a hassle to just pay more from the get-go and get something that will last i suppose if you have the $$ to shell out.

#2 - Originally, 22" displays were all TN panels, 24" displays were all S-PVA panels, and 23" displays were generally baconPS panels. I'd be surprised if this were an baconPS panel, but considering I've never seen a 23" S-PVA, it just might be...

    Nice monitor, but now OOS.

#4 you can't necessarily assume merely paying more or buying a samsung will mean it lasts longer, though if you get something with high resolution, good contrast, and at least DVI if not HDMI, at least it should take longer till one gets dissatisfied with the performance relative to future generations of monitors.

good deal, if its a guaranteed screen
samsung is known to swap out the screens in their lcd pc monitors and not deliver what was sold.

I have this monitor it's an okay monitor, can't compare to my 2407wfp-hc, but than it's half the price of it. I use the 23 as a secondary monitor, it has a lot of screen space, but everything seems really small with the res size being on a 23'. It's really bright, you will notice some bleeding when your viewing a black background, and you can really tell it's a TN panel with the viewing angles. You will notice it when you are not facing straight at it. The colors will shift when faced from different angles. There are no buttons on the screen so it's hard to adjust setting on it sometimes, specially in the dark. It will takes some time getting used to when you can't feel the buttons. the screen is wider than my 24'. Overall it's a must have if you want to fit a bunch of stuff on a screen and view your movies that have a 16:9 aspect ratio on your computer. If you are willing to spend more for a better monitor I would go with 2408.

not really a resolution I'd spring for. I'd much rather have a 24" 1920x1200 monitor than this. For movies, black bars would be better than scaling a 1080p source, and for computer use, vertical resolution would win out over the horizontal resolution

I picked this monitor up today in my local Fry's.

It's very nice. I was considering a 24" as well at 1920x1200, but this is a native 16:9 monitor (opposed to a 16:10) and it actually works out to being about 13% more pixels than a 1920x1200 monitor.

Looks good, nice samsung quality, and a nice minimalistic thin bezel.

Wish I could afford this bad boy. I have a 206bw and it's quite nice. Sure this would work out great next to it, maybe even verticle for web browsing...hmm
