I love the samsung TVs, I wonder if the monitors are as good. at least they should come with the chics shown.
This or a lower resolution hdtv with a tuner?
Samsung is pretty sweet though.
How does this compare with the Dell models?
Samsung monitors are usually very good. They are a step up from most of the budget lines you see from Acer or Sceptre or the other no-name brands that you see. Of course you'll end up paying for that step as Samsungs usually cost anywhere from $50 to $100 more than a similar monitor from someone else.
I would say if you're buying your first LCD monitor, stick with one of the cheaper brands that has a good reputation. You'll still enjoy your new LCD and you didn't have to shell out the big bucks. If you're looking to upgrade a current LCD to something better than you might want to look into what Samsung has to offer.
Awesome, Samsung is the best.
Good deal in 4 1
very nice price.. was just looking for one of these today.. this is definitly the best option ive seen so far
BTW Newegg has it for the same price but you have to pay shipping. So this is a better deal if you trust the seller.
I've had two Sammy LCDs, the 226bw and the 245bw. Both fantastic. They might be a bit more expensive, but they are worth it. You'll be looking at this LCD day-in and day-out for the foreseeable future. I equate it to the speakers you select for your stereo.
Open Box @ the EGG's for $269.99 if you're willing to take the risk.
I'd like to see these for under $300 on BF. Who can make it happen?
Is 1000:1 contrast ratio ok?
I can, if you pay me

I haven't seen any deals on 24" monitors for Black Friday. Most of the monitor deals are for <20" models. The closest I've seen is a $130 Acer 22" at Office Depot and a $260 Samsung 23" at Costo.
The Samsung is an odd size and has an odd resolution so it might not be the best choice for gaming. The Acer isn't as nice as this Samsung but, in theory, you could almsot get 3 of the Acers for the same price as this Samsung.

1000:1 contrast ratio is pretty standard for this size of monitor. Obviously the bigger the contrast ratio the better but you'll end up paying a lot more for something better as you'd be getting a better panel in the monitor.
Yeah, I've seen Acers on sale next to Sammies before. Samsung usually beats it outright. $350 aint bad compared to Dell's 24 ultrasharp $500 model.
#16, I disagree. I have an Acer 2216W at home and a Samsung 245BW at work. I prefer the PQ of the Acer over the Samsung.
no too bad of a wait until black friday imo
Reviews on egg state it is a TN panel not TFT.
I bought this just recently from Costcos for 350.00 +tax with no rebates. This monitor is awesome. Very clear and bright with no dead pixels. I don't get why anyone would spend another 150 to get a 24" dell.
