Newegg has the Samsung MZ-7PD512BW 512GB 840 Pro Series 2.5" Solid State Drive for $480 - 10% off with coupon code VMEPROMOMAR13 [Exp 3/21] (when you check out with V.me by Visa) = $432 with free shipping. Features read speeds up to 540MB/s and write speeds up to 520MB/s. Normally $500 or more. Good Amazon reviews.
The non-Pro version is perfectly fine, and will blow your mind away within 1% of this model. With the current crop of SSDs, you often have performance that goes beyond what OS and applications are ready for. You may see the drive doing 1/4 of potential, 1 CPU at 100%, and that's the end of your performance rope.
Non-pro TLC NAND durability still in question. If a 7 year shelf life for your SSD drive is acceptable then go for it. I would imagine the drive would last much longer but I "would not" purchase a TLC less then 480gb so as to insure TRIM maintains the drive life for at least the speculative 7 year window. When SSD's drop another $150 dollars for this size then I won't care.

Once again, LOVE my 840 un-pro model.
