Different controller than the 830. I'd wait a bit to see if the 840 will be as reliable as the 830. Preliminary benchmarks on the 840 Pro show it to be at or near the top. I run 830's and they are ultra reliable. I dunno how much difference the improved 840 Pro performance would translate to in real usage.
840 appears to have more iops but less seq writes.
