#1 Why? I have a 1590 with current firmware (automatically installed via the network connection) It has played every BluRay I've thrown at it. About 100 different title so far.

I bought this refurbished from TD a couple weeks ago. Works just fine and has had no problems so far. Kinda loud when it powers on, but other than that I love it. I'm a Pandora junkie and this helps me get my fix.

There are always haters in the bunch. I got the same player from TD with 15% bing cash back for $85. It works great.

This is a terrific deal and a great Blu-ray player. It does the highest quality Neflix streaming I've seen yet, and forced me to return a Sony player that cost more than double this one. Also does Blockbuster, Pandora, and YouTube. Never choked on a single disk I've fed it yet. Mine didn't look brand new when I got it... the shiny surface of the face was a bit used-looking, but that would be hard to keep pristine. I've told 4 or 5 people at work who got one and all have raved about it.

I have 2 of these players, great deal! Firmware update fixed all previous problems. Previous firmware failings probably the reason for so many available as refurb. Netflix looks great on this player, it was the main reason for getting it. Blu-ray output superb, DVD upscaling OK, but not as good as my old Panasonic blu-ray player that this player replaced. If you have decent bandwidth, Netflix for $9 a month (1 DVD at a time and unlimited streaming of available content) is the best entertainment value out there. TigerDirect is actually a pretty good company these days.

To answer #6, Yes, this does output HD from Netflix. Netflix streaming HD is only 720p, but still looks very good.

I've had it since Thanskgivivng when it was sold for $100 refubished.

It's basically worked, with a few exceptions.

    1) It's much more sensitive to dirty disks than my old oppo and panny dvd players. Cleaning the disk and restarting have always fixed the problem.

    2) If Netflix can't stream at it's preferred rate it tends to just freeze up and requires a restart and you have to FF to your spot in the movie since it forgets.

    3) The remote sucks. The Harmony 880 I have is significantly stronger and faster.

    4) The no push buttons ( capacitive touch ) on the front are hard to use.
