This is not a lightscribe drive
The link goes to the SH-S222A which is NOT a lightscribe drive. Newegg doesn't have the SH-S223A which IS a lightscribe drive. Don't know if this is Ben's error or Newegg's.
Ordered two of these recently to replace NEC 3520's that died within a month of each other---they are SH-S222A's and are stamped "AUDIO PORT NOT AVAILABLE". Can anyone explain the ramifications of not having an audio port?

These are not that great as I found that it will only write @ 16x with certain brand 16x DVD's. Other brands will vary from 8x down to 4x. I ruled out a bad unit due to 4 purchased and they all react the same in different PC's. Get something else.
zzyzx1, did you find out anything about the Audio Port Not Available version.
This is my first DVD RW and I was pretty surprised. I assume DVD's usually have the audio.
Just answered my own question (e rtfm).
Audio provided via the e-ide cable. Is this common with DVD units?
