I have the SH-S223F which only differs in that it doesn't do LightScribe and I haven't had any problems with it.

I've had mine for over a year, have burned a couple hundred DVD, and it's never burned a coaster than wasn't the fault of some other software/component of my PC. Love it. Even the lightscribe, now that i've learned NOT to use HP discs, and upgraded to 1.2 software which allows you to control the contrast, I'm finding it much more useful.

oh, I bought same one last year for my house at about $28 bucks. It come in a brown. The drive is bare wrapped with buble wrap. No directions. I mean nothing just the drive.

I was a little scared but you just take out an existing drive and replace it with this and windows does the rest.

Works GREAT! almost no coasters. I bought a writer for about $150 7 years ago and had about 30% coasters and lots of headaches.

The $20's for a drive sounds to good to be true but it is all that and more.

It's funny how the price on these stays the same over the years. $22-$26.
