I wonder now about pricing on these drives nowadays. A good (like WD) 1TB goes for $80. Cough up another $20-$25 and get the 1.5TB version of the same WD. However, to make a further 500GB jump to 2TB, you need another $45. You'd think the upgrade cost for incremental size would be LESS, not more.
It's even odd with the WD Caviar Black. The 1TB is $90, but the 2TB is $300. I know, new-fangled and all that, but THAT much of a difference???
Maybe they have to add another platter or something to go from 1.5 to 2 TB. Or it's just supply and demand. People always want the newest and many are willing to pay more for it.
