Not sure what definition of "4G" you're deciding to use on this, but since this phone supports every flavor of "4g" HSPA and HSPA+ on both GSM carriers, I assume you're trying to say nearly every phone on the market does NOT have 4g? LIke every version of the iPhone?
He's referring to the fact that it lists 4g LTE, which this phone does not support. It only supports the faster 3G (HSPA+), that T-Mobile and AT&T refer to as 4G.
Is HSPA+ 4G? Yes, according to ITU. No, according to some others. Whatever you call it, it supports HSPA+ and not LTE, which is exactly what I want. Except for the price.
I don't believe 4G is a recognized standard. Any carrier can call their latest and greatest 4G even though they differ greatly.. It's more like 4th generation on that network.
Technically only LTE is the true 4G technology, HSPA and HSPA+ are 3G technology as the data bandwidth is not as high as LTE. Carriers use the term 4G for marketing purpose to denote a faster data access. Currently I believe only Verizon is the only carrier that has deploy LTE. It will be a few years before GSM carriers (Tmobile, ATT) upgrade their networks to LTE.
The over 4.65 inch screen makes this to large to fit in your pocket. Great software, super fast, top of the market phone still. Once it hit $150, I will take a shot at it over my 4s. Anybody trade?
The GSM version (9250) does NOT have 4g or LTE like they are listing.
