4.8" AMOLED 1280x720 screen, 8MP camera, microSD
I bought this phone off CL for $350 (truly unlimited Verizon data plan) and I love it. I came from my trusty HTC Incredible and this thing makes me wish I got it sooner. Fast, great display, 16 GB internal with a micro-sd slot, 4G LTE is extremely fast, removable battery and lots of 3rd party accessories. Obviously this thing is really big but once you get used to it you don't want to go to anything smaller. It's been running great and I'll probably wait a few more months until I root it and truly unlock this phones full potential.
If you use Verizon you did not buy THIS PHONE, which is the international version of the SIII and does not support CDMA or LTE. It has HSPA+, which T-Mobile and AT&T call "4G" but really isn't (although download speeds are almost as fast as the low end download speeds of LTE networks).
This phone is only compatible with AT&T, T-Mobile and other GSM carriers in the US.
The large screen is convenient, although the color on the AMOLED screen is unnatural and over saturated, and impossible to calibrate properly. Battery life is not very good, good thing you can carry spares.
After switching from an iPhone 4 to the GS3 a few months ago, I just can't wait to ditch this horrible OS and get back to a phone that just works the way I want it to. There's no point in being able to infinitely customize the phone if I can't get it to work right and if my favorite apps aren't available for it (Tivo streaming, for instance).

Give me a break! This is an incredible phone and everybody that I know that has it loves it. It is so much better than my Motorola Razr.
I have the big brother, Note II. Both are awesome phones. LJW, I think perhaps you are trolling. I don't care who you are, whether you like iphones or android phones, if you can't figure out how to get the phone's respective OS to do what you want by now...just give up. Also, if your favorite apps aren't available on a phone you are planning to get....why are you planning to get it again?
Battery life is wonderful on these phones.
you guys should try note II, after having it for a month, i can't see myself going back to smaller phone plus battery life is superb, and if you root it, custom roms/kernel, can't beat it... anyway, SIII is a great phone no matter what anybody says,
Absolutely no reason to get this over a Nexus 4. Nexus 4 is at least its equal in every aspect (I'd argue better) and is significantly cheaper.
