    Never been a big fan of the Samsung digital cameras, I've seen several people have trouble with them.

    to be honest, all samsung cameras suck so dont go with it

    have to agree with most here. canon's either the lithum ion line or the AA battery line are the way to go for a basic consumer camera.

    DPreview lists the optical zoom as 3x, with 5x digital zoom. See http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Samsung/samsung_i85.asp .

    For the same price you can pickup an entry level Canon model that will last longer and take better photos.
