is the USB2.0 port strictly for firmware upgrades, or can I watch avi/mkv movies and view pictures on flash drives from it?

This the cheapest I've seen for this TV. My father bought the 46 inch of this model and it looks great.

usb port is for firmware updates and can view pictures only. for video check the LN40B650 or the LN40B630.

      Deal.

I've 2 older Samsung models, 46" and 52" both excellent both Black Friday deals and while I like SHARP for instance (usually because they are cheaper) they just arn't as good picture wise and that's what its all about I've yet to see Samsung beat at their price point.

this is a much improved model compared to the A550 series... it has 4 HDMI (but no S-Video) and ToC frame. My friend and I bought one each and we are pretty happy with it.

I agree #8. the B630 and B650 models will be cheap enough soon. 120hz.

Do you really need 120Hz? I was at an electronic store a while back where they has a 52 inch LN52A550 which is 60Hz and a 52 in inch LN52A650 which is 120HZ, side by side. A football game was playing on both TV sets. Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference. I didn't see any ghosting on the A550. I think the 120Hz is just another ploy to make people spend more.

#9, do you know the difference between the B630 and B650 models? Is it that the B630 has more of a matte screen than the B650?

#13 rofl. you clearly doesn't know the point of having 120hz. it's about watching movies that's at 24hz so it doesn't have a 3:2 ratio with 60hz. instead you just have 5:5 ratio with the 120hz.

hold out for the 650. if you buy this one you will cry when you see a 650 or higher. 60 hz tvs look so choppy to me now.
