Newegg user review is not so great- besides there is not many options for low cost after market toner ( besides refill by yourself). That will make the future printing cost high. So I better stick to my Brother printer( and they refuse to die after years of service.)

You must be one of the few lucky ones. My MFC brother broke within a year

I have had much better results from Canon and Dell.

Maybe I am the lucky,We have quiet a few of Brother printers in our office- a couple of AIO 9700/8600 around 10 Hl-1440, couple of 5140/5150 and some HL2040s. Most of them service from 2003/2004/2005. So far we have 1 Hl1440 dies and all other still running and running. So far the 5140 I use has gone through 140k pages - and besides the 1st toner/drum from Brother- I use all after market toner/drum after that.

I agree with Shmeagle. When I get a Brother printer, I hope it will last till the cartridge gets empty. The only time I was dumb enought to buy another cartridge, the printer croaked with a few days. Samsungs usually last through the second cartridge.

I've had fair luck with both Samsung and Brother, see them as petty much equivalent but this Samsung's carts appear to use reset chips limiting the aftermarket/3rd party availability, and raising cost if you can find any, while most (all) similar Brothers don't have the microchip or fuse to deal with.

Although I know it's because it has the wifi feature, it still seems a little wrong to call a mere 1500 cartridge based printer a "workgroup" printer.
