This is what I was waiting for. Samsung and Intel drives seem to have the least BSOD horror stories.
I picked up this SSD in March for around $140. No regrets on this purchase...this drive is quick. Maybe not quick as quick as the latest sandforce controller SSDs, but far fewer firmware headaches.
As another poster has correctly stated, no BSODs....same in my system. Rock solid stable since its install.
This drive...and all of the other Samsung SSD bare drives that end with B/WW in their product name, do not show up on Samsung's website. Only the desktop (D/AM) & notebook (N/AM) versions are shown, but they ARE the same drive...and the 3yr warranty should be the same.
Be aware that this is a bare drive....and does not include any mounting brackets, cabling, etc. I picked a mounting bracket from a local company for less than $10, but Amazon & NewEgg have them also. If your going to mount this into a notebook / laptop, this drive is slightly thinner than your typical drive. Samsung's notebook SSD product includes an adapter to fill in the gap so it fits snug.
The BuyDig website shows that it comes with Norton Ghost....which is incorrect....(or at least my purchase of the same product through NewEgg didn't). If you want to use Norton, you can go to Samsung's website and download the ISO for free. Not sure I'd recommend Norton Ghost (its the home-user version) as others have stated issues with it. Instead, Google UBCD4Win or HBCD as these will do what you need and might be of future benefit.
Best to all....
