Speaking of Samsung TVs, does anyone know what happened to their 8000 and 8500 series slimline LED TVs? They just disappeared almost everywhere within the last few days, and the places that still have them went up by $700+.
I heard some rumors that Samsung had to pull the TVs from the market in the US because of a patent dispute with Sharp, but I haven't found confirmation of that. They are some sweet TVs, so I guess I didn't buy one in time.
I have this TV, def worth the price.
#1, they're discontinued because of the C7000 being released and the C8000 and C9000 on the way. The retailers that had them blew them out at low prices with the help from Samsung, now people that have them left are stuck with them.
C7000 is 240Hz edge lit, thinner and 3D ready. No reason you wouldn't want that over a B8000. Now the B8500 can still be argued is better, but I've never been able to perceive a difference between the B8000 and the B8500.
