Well let's see... suppose it does use 800W vs 200W for a big LCD TV, a 0.6KW difference. In winter we can subtract some of the money spent on power because it's also heating the room but let's ignore that since you have to cool it in summer too and go with the $30 a month electric bill increase.

$30/$0.06 = 500 hours, 500H/30 days = 17H/day
I suggest that someone who cares about their power bill won't average 17 hours of use per day and someone who isn't willing to pay a lot to watch TV won't buy a $1587 TV either, though if cost and power is an issue you can drop down to a bit under 150W/hour with some modern LCD TVs around ~55" or smaller.
