"Sam's Club also has it for the same price." - Not true. Sam's club charges an annual membership so it's not the same price. You have to factor in that cost across all your purchases for year. The more you purchase from them, the lower that cost is on a per-item basis, but it is never zero.
Haha. I am laughing at you! Incomplete analysis. If you save money by shopping at Sam's Club, then that will offset the costs. You don't pay for the membership because its fun to shop at Sam's Club.
If you are buying a membership at Sam's Club just to get this device then you are completely correct. If you already have a membership at Sam's club (~$4 a month) that you use for normal purchases then your analysis is somewhat flawed.
That being said, I would rather get it from Amazon anyway. They have better CS and greater depth of customer feedback.
