is this a good dvd burner
i burn dvd's of my seester with this
I've got a non-L/scribe Sam. burner and I don't think its as good as the same type by Asus which is faster, quieter and gives me less rejects.
I have had 2 Samsung burners fail on me in the past, I am gun shy of them now. Samsung burners generally do not have the tweaked firmwares or integrate with some of the software that people use when checking disks with. I prefer NEC/Sony or LiteON drives. LiteON drives can be cheap but are good readers, while the NEC/Sony drives are good writers.
Most people just burn and this drive will do that except if it fails. For the price, it is a disposable drive.
Newegg is offering 15% off Internal CD/DVD Burners with Coupon Code: NE15INCDDVD (Exp 11/16).
Thanks for the code #4. Everyone, keep in mind the code is only good if you're subscribed to their newsletter emails and logged in.
LightScribe is a cool feature to have.
If you don't like this drive, you can get a Lite-On iHAS224 from chiefvalue for $21
