If you can't compete on Price, Service and Selection, compete on Rebates.

This is what's wrong with the Zippybates.
"If rebate payment is greater than $10 a Prepaid Visa® Card will be issued. The Prepaid Visa® Card will expire 12 months from the issuance date. To check rebate status, log onto zipzoomfly.rebateaccess.com"

Now I don't mind an occasional Prepaid, card but not every stinking $15. I got one for like $20 (not from zippy) and didn't even want to deal with it at stores, went into my bank and said put to the checking.

Whiner! It is no big deal to empty the card on a purchase of equal or greater value than the card. I use these cards in a moment on my weekly grocery shopping.

It is a big deal, because those stupid cards add no value to the rebate process...they cost more to produce than a paper check, and some card processor (not to mention Visa or MC, and/or the issuing bank) gets to siphon off a little slice every time one is used. I think they are crap.

#4 -- Sure I've done that also, but is it the green solution?
I wish they'd apply it straight to a PayPal in two weeks after processing.
That would have us go buy more sh|t we don't always need... that much faster.

    BAH! Rebates are a PITA!
Whether a check or a Visa GC, no difference. Just about every place accepts Visa.

My $15 rebate was one card. It took just over 4 months to get the rebate. The drive died in 1 1/2 months.

The whole point of rebates, from a retailers point-of-view, is that they hope you won't fill one out or that you'll forget to do it or that you'll not submit all the correct information that you are required to do or that you won't submit it in the specified time frame.

If any of these things happen, the retailer has just sold you an item at regular price. This is what they hope will happen. They also know the percent of people that fail at doing rebates. This is why they do them to get you to buy stuff.
