I remember when DVD drive and media prices came down to a reasonable level the CD drive prices fell through the floor. I went nutz and bought lots of the inexpensive CD drives which quickly found their way from the PCs to the shelf. It was a bit of a waste of money really. I'm holding off doing the same with these inexpensive DVD drives. The new Blu-ray drive chipsets will allow for more reasonably priced Blu-ray drives and media very soon.
If you need a dvd-r for backups I wouldnt wait.
Now if only rebates would go the way of CD Drives.

I'm in the market for a black DVD+-RW drive. Any comments on a good (reliable and quiet) model/brand to buy? Are there any ones you know of with Blue led lights for activity? TIA
