Newegg has the Samsung Spinpoint F4 HD204UI 2TB 5400 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive for $90 - $12 off with coupon code 24HRSALE29L [Exp 2/9] = $78 with free shipping. Fantastic Newegg user reviews.
In my opinion, and obviously you have all the rights to disagree with me, this drive is well worth it at this price. There is nothing wrong with waiting till next Black Friday and if life spares you might be able to buy this drive for less but if you urgently need a 2TB drive, I would say, do not hesitate.
#2 Probably due to the horribly shipping practices... plastic clamshell and thin bubble wrap. That's it! no peanuts or wadded paper to prevent shifting. ups drivers will have a field day with your hdds...
Depends on the warehouse it ships from #6, some of mine were bubble wrapped, then in a box, then that box in peanuts in the outer shipping box.
Even so, I like how places like SuperBiiz do it better, they have custom foam inserts that suspend the drive in an outer box exactly the right size... would be even better if they then took THAT box and put it in a 2nd larger box with peanuts around it... currently nobody I'm aware of is packing things like UPS or Fedex recommends, ensuring at least 2" between all items and the outer box walls on all sides.
Looking for a $30 off coupon code, not $12.
Wait till the next Black Friday. Ben should have a countdown.
BTW, for those who care, this is a 5400 rpm drive. Although the complaints on Newegg are about the usual dead drives, not the performance.

#4, I was just kidding when I said wait till Black Friday. It was a joking response to #1.
