by this pricing, I predict this 3D-LED-TV will cost $1000 by Christmas.

Very simm and attractive design. It is 3D version which is not yet useful because of lack of 3D broadcasting for this year.

For what it's worth, I own the non-3D version of this TV. All I can say is WOW. We've had it since January and I am still amazed at the clarity and quality. Samsung does it right. I'm sure this model won't dissappoint.

Anybody have one of the 3D LCD TVs? Is it hype or real? My 240hz Sammy LCD already generates more of a 3D like image but not like it jumps out of the screen. I've seen some so called 3D TVs when walking through the airport. The image was more 3D but the picture quality sucked and it was a more simplified video clip vs real life.

My brother has the 55" 8000 version and it is AMAZING. The future is going to be 3D as many 3D channels are in the works. If you have a good LCD I say wait and enjoy what you have. If you are in the market for a new TV then get a 3D capable one to ensure future compatibility. Just remember you still need a 3D blu ray player to view 3D movies.

I am seriously not a fan of the 3D hype. It's really not worth it and really stupid to have to wear the glasses all the time. I was in Sears and saw a Samsung 3D TV playing the 3D BlueRay movie Pixar's and I was just like, uh.. That's it.
Save a few hundred or even a thousand and get a regular LCD 240Hz TV. The 3D is crap and glasses are a rip off as well. A family of say 4 would cost you almost $300 more for the glasses and they all can't be charged at once. Try telling your screaming children, hold on they have to charge before you can see the 3D..

It's sad in a way, in the good ole days you could be a couch potato with a $200 set but now we're paying $2000 or more to do it because we want it to seem as real as getting up off the couch.

I think 3D is definitely the way to go in the future. It's the next logical step to making your picture more realistic. I also think the way it's done currently is way too extreme and not natural. Look around your room. Do you go "Wow, that chair is really jumping out at me!"? This 3D they have now is like your eyes are on the ends of a 3-foot pole. When they perfect it, the picture will be awesome and everyone will want it. For now, it's just another gimmick.

What 240Hz TVs are there that aren't also advertised as 3DTVs?

I saw a sony 3d hdtv at one of their stores and was very impressed with the 3d quality. I agree with #10 that it was more extreme than real life vision. But it was impressive! I'm just worried about how much it would cost to get 10 pairs of the bluetooth glasses for the big game.
