Should be 10 dollars for 2 gigs. 20 dollars for 4 gigs. Bad price.
i have one and it's fast, I'd even pay up to 12 or so for another one, but I got 3 for 43 last october...
What makes one brand slower than the rest?
sometimes the transfer speed won't be written in the product description-this is often a bad sign. for instance, I have an A-DATA PD9 8GB which reads at 30MB/s (pretty fast) but writes at 2MB/s (glacial). this one reads at 30-33MB/s, and writes at ~15MB/s. other drives are even faster.
often the very cheapest drive for any given size is quite slow. If you're using the drive more as a backup, the write speed might not be as important, but if you want want to move some files quickly from one machine to another, having a good transfer speed is helpful
agree with #1 - the prices should be lower by now - if you really don't need one - wait
no #1, should be $15 or less for 4GB now.. $20 is still no deal for me for 4GB
bad price!
definitely NOT a deal. even if this was the titanium version, it would still be questionable.
The 4GB regularly sells in the 20-something range and has even sold for $18 (after rebate):
