    Are these still completely incompatible with Vista?

    The "U3" software is ridiculous and requires a program to uninstall it. If the software works properly. It can't just be formatted off.

    I like the cruzer but this is not a great deal when you can nab a 16gb from time to time for 20-30 dollars.

    I don't see your point, #5. $10 is a lot cheaper than $20-$30.

    @sholling:
    As an owner of one, I can tell you that it is compatible with Vista; I have no idea why they wouldn't be compatible.

    @Mr_Hellbaconperator:
    U3 provides the uninstaller for free and it is an easy process. I agree that the U3 software is terrible.

    @lawnsprinkler:
    $10 / 4GB = $2.50/GB
    $30 / 16GB = $1.88/GB

    This is a great drive, but you may want to think about the Cruzer Titanium; these drives don't feel durable. Oh, and having paid $40 for a 512MB Cruzer Micro years ago, this seems like an AMAZING deal (joke)!

    right on, #7, on all points. i've uninstalled U3 from friends drives and was surprised how little it fought. also, i too bought a 512 for about 35, maybe 4 years ago, and i'm tempted by a shiny new 16...or even a 32

    Not such a great drive. The price is poor, we've seen plastic cased 4GB drives for $10 quite a while now, and 8GB often under $20 with a rebate. I suppose if you really truely certainly will never need more than 4GB it's fair since there's no rebate, but don't your smaller USB drives just become a waste when you run out of space and want something larger? At least when it starts out larger you have a bit more time before that happens.

    Not as fast as some, less durable (including Titanium version) than you'd think because with the USB plug slid out it can still exert pressure on the PCB solder joints.

    Sliding it in isn't usually important either, unless you happen to work in sand, gravel dust or acid that can corrode gold or tin plating. Otherwise having the end exposed is fine providing the casing makes a tight fit against it instead of designed with slack so it slides. Point being, whether it survives being bashed with a hammer or ran over with a steam roller is beside the point, when in your pocket you would rather it absorbed that impact by being a crumple zone instead.

    I suppose next someone will propose our dinnerwear and LCD TVs should survive mortal shells and explosives instead of the stresses present in their intended use environment.

    Anyway, 16GB OCZ Diesel is a better value IMO at $23AR. 230% of the price but 400% of the capacity.

    #7, thanks for explaining that. I just did some calculations and realized I can get these for $0.50/GB if buy the whole company. Way better deal.
