I use flash drives easily 10 times a day. The sliders all fail mechanically within a week and I have to use the guts till they wear out. So I only buy ones that have a cap, or no cap at all, like the SuperTalent Pico.

#1, yours must have been defective, baconnaise happens.

My 4GB works great and it's 4+ years old and the slider works fine, but I'm sure I don't use it as much as #5.

I don't know if they still do this, but the pre-loaded software that doesn't go away w/ a format is ridiculously annoying.

There are ways to get that junk off, but srsly. It's annoying. Stop it.

thanks to the U3 software i used my cruzer today to install and run winamp on my company computer without breaking the unapproved software install policy. SanDisk saved the day. the thought of being forced to use MS Media Player is repulsive.

#8 lets face it.. The thought of being forced to use any MS product is repulsive. People do it everyday without realizing it. You have a choice.

Agree with #5; the slider will break. Even with capped thumbdrives, you just end up losing the cap.

And having anything "preloaded" is a definite minus. Who wants to deal getting rid of that crap?
