The interface on this is much worse than the other sansa players.

True. The software on the Sansa c250 is awful. However, I installed Rockbox (http://www.rockbox.org) and have been very pleased. It still doesn't interface with iTunes though.

In my opinion,Sansa e series is a better version, but Sansa View is the best.

I got many of these refurbished and of all the Sandisks (Sansa's) it is the one that always breaks fast.
Get the clip, those have amazing sound (check the clip vs apple shuffle reviews in cnet, clip won by far and contrary to what they say, it looks very cool with the blue lights) radio, equalizer and rechargeable battery. They go for about $20 for same GBs refurbished, which I had purchased 7 w/ no problem.

Rockbox can be installed on Sansa c250 with v1.x firmware only, which supports direct USB.
The latest c250 come with V2.x

listen to #4. The clip beats it in all respects. Clip is smaller, easier to navigate, better screen contrast, improved sound quality, and build quality.

C250 phone jack is soldered on without any real PCB support - over time folks ended up losing sound in left channel.

The clip is on sale for $15 at Bestbuy.com. Go with the clip, you will regret getting this one.
