Great player but 1GB is bit light. Just a few more shekels will get you the 4GB model. Even better is the clip+ since it takes MSD cards.

Sure, but for some uses like exercising, running, cycling, etc (Not that it's safe to listen while cycling but some do it anyway...) you just want the cheapest thing with a reasonable set of features and decent sound (isn't crap).

This has been $15, even as low as $10 + S/H on woot in the past but it is likely you'd see fewer and fewer deals like that in the future since the Clip+ displaces it in their produce lineup and those aren't selling as cheap as refurbs.

Best next step up in mem capacity or features would probably be a 4GB refurb'd Fuze @$40.

Agree with #1, 1GB is a bit light, BUT excellent product. I picked up a refurb about 2 yrs ago for LTN 15 bucks. Still going strong. I use it almost exclusive for audio books. I then bought 1 for my wife and later 3 more for my nephews (great cheep stocking stuffers). All still working fine except for one which was DOA. (It came from WOOT so they wouldn't take it back and Sanza wouldn't either. Moral of story: buy any refurbs from BUY or NewEgg or someone else reputable)...

I bought the 2g a few weeks ago to replace a dead iPod. I love it. I use it for audiobooks only.

I'll never go back to iPod/iTunes.
