I like my clip. If you're looking for a small mp3 player/fm radio, you can't beat this.

Yes very nice combination of form factor, features and sound quality for the price, though the included earbuds are pretty underwhelming.

Great device for people on foodstamps, or people not interested in dating.

ironic that #3 is named 'natty_ice'...?

agree with #1 and #2. this is a great price on a very good MP3 player. perfect when you only need to listen to music and dont care about video.

#3, yeah having the #1 best audio quality mp3 player on earth vs a trendy buy a new one for $250 every 6 months ipoop is really a correlative factor in food stamp ability.

"Hey look everbody, I spend $500 a year on a subpar mp3 player that locks down everything with DRM, but makes me feel superior"

The new version of this player, the Clip +, is now out and the improvements make it a GREAT one. The original one was rated the best buy of 2008 at anythingbutipod.com, and the new one has a micro SD slot that will accept up to 32g cards.

The Clip+ also supports folder browsing, where you can just drag and drop a bunch of unrelated songs to a folder and it will simply play them. On the older model, you had to create a playlist.

Good player, would be a reasonable price it were new, but this is reconditioned junk- I bought mine new for under $20 at OD.

The included earphones with most players are junk, so that's no big deal. Audio quality is exceptional with any reasonable headphones.

Summary- good deals on Bensie's site have been few and lightyears between for a long time now. Plus he posts late rips from other sites such as Flatwallet and Slaker bacon which have had better info and reviews recently.

We use this device at work for our 'Hold' music on our phone system. Running 24x7 for six months now, powered by external power adaptor.

Actually "reconditioned" or refurbished with these often means it is a brand new product, surplus stock that they stamp an "R" on the back of and put in a whitebox instead of retail packaging. Same brand new product.

That doesn't mean it's impossible for someplace to sell you one that's really refurbished or a customer return, but larger volume sellers like Woot, Buy, Newegg, seem to mostly be selling new ones as reconditioned.

The Clip+'s slot seems like a worthy addition, though personally I like these because they are essentially disposable, if you get a 1GB refurbished one and drop it or someone steals it, you won't really care except no tunes till you replace it.

My daughter's Clip won't hold a charge any more after less than two years.

Even at one replacement per year, that's a pretty good cost to usage ratio.

Also, what's her usage? Two years for your daughter might be five or ten for other people.
