    ^ Not that I recall, but early ~ 1GB Sansa players were around $120... though at the time that was the largest Sandisk offered, IIRC. Seems like they used 1 x AAA cell. and were kinda chunky chrome trimmed things.

    Months later Sansa Clip, clip broke. Add a very lose headphone jack. Making this deal less of a deal. Further forensic investigation shows lose soldier joints holding the headphone jack to the main board.

    ^ Common problem with most personal audio players, you have to be gentle with it. I find it helps to use a 90' right angle type plug on the headphones.

    They can be non-destructively opened, though it's also pretty easy to break the plastic latching tabs that hold it together while trying... then you can superglue it back together but use the glue sparingly as it might haze the screen shield from fumes while drying.
