No more Sansa for me. First player crapped out due to the memory corruption, second one has short at the headphone jack. And that's only after few months of use.

We have five Sansas of various models in our household (2 refurbs) and haven't had a single problem yet.

This is a nice little Ipod shuffle alternative. Small and lightweight but still has a basic screen for displaying song info. Got one for my Mother-In-Law a few years ago and she hasn't had any problems with it.

I don't really consider this a deal. Get the 8gb Sansa Fuze from Amazon for $70. It's brand new (not refurb), newer and better model with a color LCD screen, micro SD expandable, all for $20 more.

I've always had issues transferring files with Sansa's.

Had two sansa's and they both stopped working after 6 months. It plays for a little then it just shuts off and won't charge. I would just get an ipod

We use the 2 gig version at work for our Phone system's 'Hold' music. Running 24x7 for 6 months plugged into an external usb wall charger.

My Sansa still works flawlessly, though I think an 8GB for $50 kinda goes against the point of a Sansa which is a great value disposable player. Price it too high and you start pretending like you'd care if you lost it.

I've seen the 8GB at my local Walmart new for $50. Not sure if they're still around, but you have to look for them in odd places...they're not always located in the MP3 player display case. If you can find one, new beats refurb, right? We're talking about the original model, btw.
