#1 is exactly right! See anythingbutipod.com for reviews on both the Clip and Clip +. The Clip was their MP3 of the year for 2008, and the Clip + addressed virtually every shortcoming. Also look at the reviews of the Clip + on Amazon: the last time I looked EVERY single one was five stars.

i picked up the $15 1gb from buy. THAT was a bargain. works great and holds enough tunes for many hours of running. i hit "play all" and let it go.

i just couldnt see using it for holding a lot of music though. thats what a full size player is for.

Although the Newegg deal may not be great, the price for what you're getting is amazing. I was initially looking for a voice recorder for school and found this MP3 player. It's awesome how i can simply plug in the card and start listening to music isntead of synchronizing with iTunes.
I wouldn't consider an iPod or any other stand alone MP3 player after I bought this.

These are great for the price. You might not be able to listen to all the music but also can work to transfer files and things of that nature.

BTW - $5 worth of free mp3 downloads from Amazon with the purchase of this player, too.

frankburnz, you FAIL. Maximum capacity for microsd is 16GB, not 32GB.

The clip & clip+ are great little players for what they are, but even so I can't see spending $60 on one instead of a larger player with a nicer screen. The virtue of a clip with lower capacity is it's essentially disposable due to the low price.

Clip+ isn't all that "much" improved though, unless you really plan on using the microSD slot. Without video playback capability there is not as much need for it to store so many multiple times what it can play back with a single charge.

#10, max capacity for microSD IS 32GB, it'll just be awhile till higher density chips make their way into this form-factor.

A 16GB microSD card is about $50 though, that cost plus $60 the clip plus, $110 total is crazy for what it is, let alone paying even more for an addt'l 16GB capacity w/32GB microSD card in the future. At least IMO, a better deal would be a 2GB refurb'd Fuze for $30, then add a $15 8GB microSD card.
